Japakusuma Sankasham Kashyapeyam Mahadyutim Tamorim Sarvapapghnam Pranatosmi Divakaram
I bow before Divakara, the maker of the day, whose radiance resembles the crimson glow of the hibiscus flower. Born of the lineage of sage Kashyapa, he is the great luminary, the eternal foe of darkness, and the destroyer of all sins. As the sun dispels the night, so does his grace dispel every shadow of transgression from the hearts of those who offer their reverence.
Dadhishankha Tusharabham Kshirodarnava Sambhavam Namami Shashinam Somam Shambhor Mukuta Bhushanam
I offer salutations to Soma, the Moon, whose luminous complexion is as white as curds, a conch shell, or freshly fallen snow, and who arose from the churning of the great ocean of milk. He is the gentle Shashi, the bearer of cooling nectar, who adorns the very crown of Lord Shambhu as a jewel of celestial beauty, pouring serenity upon all the worlds.
Dharanigarbha Sambhutam Vidyutkanti Samaprabham Kumaram Shaktihastam Tam Mangalam Pranamamy Aham
I bow to Mangala, the auspicious one, who was born from the womb of the Earth herself and whose brilliance rivals the dazzling flash of lightning. Ever youthful like Kumara, the divine warrior, he bears the weapon Shakti in his hand, embodying the fierce protective power that guards the righteous and vanquishes all obstacles.
Priyangukali Kashyamam Rupenapratimam Budham Saumyam Saumyagunopetam Tam Budham Pranamamy Aham
I offer my salutations to Budha, the awakened one, whose complexion is as dark and beautiful as the bud of the priyangu flower, and whose form is beyond compare in its loveliness. He is Saumya, the gentle and gracious one, endowed with every quality of mildness and wisdom, the celestial patron of intellect, speech, and discernment.
Devanam Cha Rishinam Cha Gurum Kanchana Sannibham Buddhibhutam Trilokesham Tam Namami Brihaspatim
I bow to Brihaspati, the supreme preceptor of both the gods and the sages, whose radiance shines like pure gold. He is the embodiment of wisdom itself, the lord and guiding light of the three worlds, whose divine counsel steers the celestial order and illuminates the path of righteousness for all beings.
Himakunda Mrinalabham Daityanam Paramam Gurum Sarvashastra Pravaktaram Bhargavam Pranamamy Aham
I bow to Bhargava, the illustrious son of the sage Bhrigu, whose lustre resembles the snow-white jasmine and the tender lotus stalk. He is the exalted preceptor of the Daityas, the master who expounds all the sacred sciences and scriptures. Through his profound knowledge and unwavering devotion, he guides even the fallen toward wisdom and redemption.
Nilanjana Samabhasam Raviputram Yamagrajam Chhaya Martanda Sambhutam Tam Namami Shanaischaram
I bow to Shanaischara, the slow-moving one, whose dark splendour resembles the deep blue of crushed collyrium. He is the son of Surya, the sun god, and the elder brother of Yama, the lord of death, born of Chhaya Devi and the radiant Martanda. Though feared by many, Shani is the great teacher of karma, whose patient discipline purifies the soul through righteous endurance.
Ardhakayam Mahaviryam Chandraditya Vimardanam Simhika Garbha Sambhutam Tam Rahum Pranamamy Aham
I bow to Rahu, the shadow planet of immense valour, who possesses only half a body yet wields tremendous cosmic power. He is the one who eclipses both the moon and the sun, swallowing their light in his insatiable jaws, and who was born from the womb of the demoness Simhika. His presence in the heavens reminds all beings that even the greatest luminaries must yield before the mysterious forces of destiny.
Palasha Pushpa Sankasham Tarakagraha Mastakam Raudram Raudratmakam Ghoram Tam Ketum Pranamamy Aham
I bow to Ketu, whose hue resembles the reddish flame of the Palasha blossom and who stands at the head of the stars and planets. Fierce, terrifying, and of a wrathful nature, he is the headless torso left behind when Vishnu's Sudarshana severed the immortal body of Svarbhanu. Though fearsome, Ketu bestows spiritual liberation upon those who seek the formless truth beyond material existence.
Iti Vyasa Mukhodgitam Yah Pathet Susamahitah Diva Va Yadi Va Ratrau Vighna Shantir Bhavishyati
Thus was this hymn sung forth from the lips of the great sage Vyasa. Whoever recites it with a focused and devoted mind, whether by day or by night, shall find that all obstacles are pacified and peace descends upon their life like gentle rain upon parched earth.
Nara Nari Nrupanam Cha Bhaved Duhsvapna Nashanam Aishwaryam Atulam Tesham Arogyam Pushti Vardhanam
For men, women, and kings alike, this sacred hymn destroys the torment of evil dreams and nightmares. It bestows incomparable prosperity, robust health, and ever-increasing nourishment of body and spirit upon all who faithfully recite it.
Graha Nakshatra Jah Pidas Taskaragni Samudbhavah Tah Sarvah Prashamam Yanti Vyaso Brute Na Samshayah
All afflictions born of the planets and stars, as well as calamities arising from thieves and fire, are completely dissolved through the power of this stotram. This is the solemn declaration of Vyasa himself; there is no doubt whatsoever in this promise of divine protection.

Attributed to the sage Vyasa, the Navagraha Stotram is a celebrated hymn invoking the nine celestial bodies of Vedic astrology: the Sun, Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, and the two shadow planets Rahu and Ketu. Each verse offers salutations to one graha, describing its divine appearance, cosmic parentage, and essential nature. Widely recited as a planetary remedy, this stotram is believed to pacify the adverse influences of the grahas and bring harmony, health, and spiritual protection to the devotee.
