Yo Apam Pushpam Veda Pushpavan Prajavan Pashu Man Bhavati Chandrama Va Apam Pushpam Pushpavan Prajavan Pashu Man Bhavati Ya Evam Veda

One who knows the flower of the waters becomes endowed with flowers, progeny, and cattle. The moon is the flower of the waters. Thus one who knows this truth becomes blessed with flowers, progeny, and cattle. Such is the power of this sacred knowing.

योऽपामायतनं वेद। आयतनवान् भवति। अग्निर्वा अपामायतनम्। आयतनवान् भवति। य एवं वेद।

Yo Apam Ayatanam Veda Ayatanavan Bhavati Agni Va Apam Ayatanam Ayatanavan Bhavati Ya Evam Veda

One who knows the abode of the waters becomes established in a true abode. Fire is the abode of the waters. One who knows this becomes firmly established in that sacred dwelling. The one who knows thus is truly grounded.

योऽपां प्रतिष्ठां वेद। प्रतिष्ठावान् भवति। वायुर्वा अपां प्रतिष्ठा। प्रतिष्ठावान् भवति। य एवं वेद।

Yo Apam Pratishthaam Veda Pratishthavan Bhavati Vayur Va Apam Pratishtha Pratishthavan Bhavati Ya Evam Veda

One who knows the foundation of the waters becomes himself fully established. Wind is the foundation of the waters. One who knows this truth stands firm in the world, unshaken by adversity. The one who knows thus attains perfect groundedness.

योऽपां संभवं वेद। संभवावान् भवति। आपो वा अपां संभवः। संभवावान् भवति। य एवं वेद।

Yo Apam Sambhavam Veda Sambhavavan Bhavati Apo Va Apam Sambhavah Sambhavavan Bhavati Ya Evam Veda

One who knows the origin of the waters becomes the very source of abundance. Water itself is the origin of the waters: existence springs from its own depths. One who perceives this self-arising mystery participates in the creative power of the cosmos. Such knowing makes one a wellspring of life.

योऽपां नाथं वेद। नाथवान् भवति। वरुणो वा अपां नाथः। नाथवान् भवति। य एवं वेद।

Yo Apam Natham Veda Nathavan Bhavati Varuno Va Apam Nathah Nathavan Bhavati Ya Evam Veda

One who knows the lord of the waters himself becomes a lord, a protector, a guide. Varuna is the lord of the waters, upholding cosmic order and truth. One who knows this becomes invested with natural authority and righteous sovereignty. Knowledge of this divine lordship brings dignity and cosmic alignment.

One who knows this connection between the sun and water attains luminous abundance. Such knowledge illuminates the path of life.

योऽपामायतनं वेद। आयतनवान् भवति। चन्द्रमा वा अपामायतनम्। आयतनवान् भवति। य एवं वेद।

Yo Apam Ayatanam Veda Ayatanavan Bhavati Chandrama Va Apam Ayatanam Ayatanavan Bhavati Ya Evam Veda

One who knows the abode of the waters becomes established in a true sanctuary. The moon is the abode of the waters, cradling the tides of ocean and life. One who understands this sacred shelter is herself sheltered by the cosmos. The moon's cool light reveals the hidden home of all things.

योऽपां प्रतिष्ठां वेद। प्रतिष्ठावान् भवति। नक्षत्राणि वा अपां प्रतिष्ठा। प्रतिष्ठावान् भवति। य एवं वेद।

One who knows the foundation of the waters becomes firmly rooted in existence. The stars are the foundation of the waters: the celestial ocean mirrors the earthly one. One who recognizes the unity of star-fire and flowing water stands rooted in both heaven and earth. This knowledge of cosmic correspondence grants unshakeable inner stability.

योऽपां संभवं वेद। संभवावान् भवति। पर्जन्यो वा अपां संभवः। संभवावान् भवति। य एवं वेद।

Yo Apam Sambhavam Veda Sambhavavan Bhavati Parjanyo Va Apam Sambhavah Sambhavavan Bhavati Ya Evam Veda

One who knows the origin of the waters himself becomes a source of generative power. Parjanya, the rain-god, is the origin of the waters, descending from sky to earth. One who understands how rain calls forth life from the hidden depths of the soil becomes a bringer of nourishment and renewal to all who dwell nearby.

योऽपां वरं वेद। वरवान् भवति। सोमो वा अपां वरः। वरवान् भवति। य एवं वेद।

Yo Apam Varam Veda Varavan Bhavati Somo Va Apam Varah Varavan Bhavati Ya Evam Veda

One who knows the choicest essence of the waters becomes filled with that supreme quality. Soma is the choicest essence of the waters: the nectar of immortality drawn from the cosmic source. One who understands this sacred distillation gains access to the nectar of wisdom and bliss. Knowledge of Soma's nature confers the highest gift: the taste of the eternal.

आपो हि ष्ठा मयोभुवः। ता न ऊर्जे दधातन। महे रणाय चक्षसे।

Apo Hi Shtha Mayo Bhuvah Ta Na Urje Dadhata Na Mahe Ranaya Chakshase

O waters, you are indeed the source of all that gives joy and well-being. Grant us strength, sustain us with your power. Bestow upon us the great vision, the seeing that reveals the highest truth.

यो वः शिवतमो रसः। तस्य भाजयतेह नः। उशतीरिव मातरः।

Yo Vah Shiva Tamo Rasah Tasya Bhajayateha Nah Ushatiriva Mataraha

Of your most auspicious and beneficent essence, grant us a share here and now. Like eager and loving mothers, you rush toward your children. Bless us with that most sacred, most nourishing part of your being.

तस्मा अरं गमाम वः। यस्य क्षयाय जिन्वथ। आपो जनयथा च नः।

Tasma Aram Gama Ma Vah Yasya Kshayaya Jinvatha Apo Janayatha Cha Nah

We have come to you for that very purpose: to dwell in the home you enliven and sustain. Refresh and invigorate us, O waters, as you refresh all creation. Bring us into new life, O waters: make us be born again into your sacred abundance.
